What the job is

This is a Maintenance Foreman position at Rand Refinery (Pty) Limited, based in JHB East Rand, Gauteng. The role is part of the Asset Care GCR division and involves leading maintenance activities in Ghana. It is a fixed-term contract for 24 months, with the closing date for applications set on 11 October 2026.

What you will do

You will lead and coordinate electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical maintenance activities for plant equipment, control systems, and automation assets. You will execute planned and corrective maintenance according to approved plans and work with reliability and engineering teams to establish maintenance standards. You will oversee the maintenance of furnace refractories, general building infrastructure, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and civil repairs. You will allocate resources to ensure optimal performance, conduct performance reviews for your team, and develop personal development plans. You will also promote safety practices, contribute to budget preparation, and build strong working relationships with other departments.

What you need

You must have a National Diploma in Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, along with a recognized Trade Test Certificate in one of these fields. You need at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar maintenance or supervisory role. Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance or another Computerized Maintenance Management System is essential. You should have strong skills in fault-finding, troubleshooting, planning, and interpreting technical drawings. Knowledge of asset care, maintenance practices, control systems, automation equipment, and safety procedures is required.
