What the job is
This is a job for a Retail Merchandise Inventory Planner at Pump and Abrasion Technologies, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role is part of the Curve Gear division, which operates in the apparel and fashion industry. The company is looking for someone who understands retail, enjoys working with stock and data, and can turn information into practical actions to improve inventory flow.
What you will do
You will plan and manage stock levels across all stores, online channels, and warehouses to ensure the right products are available in the right quantities at the right time. You will monitor sales, stock availability, and slow-moving items, and recommend actions like replenishment, transfers, and allocations. You will prepare reports on inventory metrics, analyze product and store performance, and work with teams to solve stock-related problems. You will also maintain accurate data in the ERP system, support buying decisions, and communicate stock movements to stores and warehouses.
What you need
You need experience in apparel, footwear, or retail planning, with a strong understanding of stock flow, replenishment, and inventory management. You must be skilled in using ERP or stock management systems and have strong Excel or Google Sheets abilities. Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze sales and stock data are essential. Good communication and follow-up skills are also required, along with the ability to work under pressure.
What you will get
The salary for this permanent, full-time role ranges from R480,000 to R600,000 per year. You will work in a structured environment where your analytical and practical skills will directly impact stock availability, sales, and profitability.
