What the job is

This is a Fitness Instructor position at Virgin Active South Africa, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role is permanent and involves working at the N1 City club under the Clubs Coastal division. The main goal is to inspire people to live active and healthy lives by promoting fitness programs and services.

What you will do

You will promote world-class fitness products and services to members. You will conduct new member inductions to help them get started and feel comfortable. You will build strong relationships with members to encourage them to stay with the club. You will run fitness initiatives and programs to keep members engaged. You will follow all health and safety rules to ensure members are safe at all times. You will also handle administrative tasks and keep up with ongoing training to stay updated in the fitness industry. Additionally, you will promote extra products and services available to members.

What you need

You must have a Matric qualification and a recognized fitness certification. You need at least 6 months of experience in the fitness industry. A First Aid qualification with AED certification is required. You should be able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Experience in customer service is important, and you must be a people person who can guide and assist members. Adaptability, curiosity, and a winning attitude are key traits for this role. You should also be trustworthy, motivated, and committed to making a positive impact on people’s lives.
