What the job is
This is a full-time position for a Logistics and Stores Manager at the Border Management Authority, based in Centurion, Gauteng. The role involves overseeing logistics operations and managing the supply chain to ensure smooth and efficient processes within the organization.
What you will do
You will manage logistics operations, including planning raw material requirements to avoid excess stock and ensuring on-time deliveries of materials. You will support the full supply chain for imports and exports, maintain quality control for incoming materials, and keep finished goods stock levels aligned with business goals. Additionally, you will lead production planning, optimize processes, track data in real time, and manage invoicing and record-keeping. You will also build relationships with business units, represent the organization in meetings, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Financial management duties include budget planning, monitoring, and reporting, while people management involves leading a team, coaching staff, and handling performance and disciplinary matters.
What you need
You must have a Matric (Grade 12) certificate and an undergraduate degree (NQF Level 7) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Public Administration, Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or ICT. You need at least 5 years of experience in junior management within Supply Chain Management or a related field. Knowledge of the Border Management Authority Act, PFMA, Treasury Regulations, SCM Regulations, and the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act is required. A valid driver’s license is also necessary, and flexibility to work overtime may be required.
