What the job is

This is a Senior Import Controller position at Rohlig-Grindrod, a company in the logistics and supply chain industry. The job is based in Sandton, Gauteng, at the company’s Head Office in Linbro Park. It is a permanent role focused on managing imports, coordinating freight, and ensuring compliance in the pharmaceutical sector.

What you will do

You will handle the forwarding and clearing of shipments. You will coordinate transport and manage invoicing and administration for shipment files. You will also arrange insurance cover and process claims when needed. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with the company’s quality management system and perform other related tasks as required.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a 2-year freight forwarding qualification at NQF level 4 or 5. You need at least 5 to 7 years of experience in import controlling within the Clearing and Forwarding Industry. Knowledge of Incoterms 2020, shipment types, commercial documents, and CargoWise is essential. Strong computer skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are also required. Good communication and time management skills are important, as is the ability to work under pressure.
