What the job is

This is a Production Planner job offered by Kontak Recruitment for a well-known manufacturing company in Krugersdorp, Gauteng. The company makes pipe coupling and jointing solutions. The role involves organizing production tasks, customer orders, and delivery schedules to make sure everything runs smoothly in the factory.

What you will do

You will create and update daily production trackers to keep track of customer orders and products. You will check back-order reports to see which orders are behind and need priority. You will print and share production trackers and order confirmations with team leaders and production staff. You will inform team leaders about new or changed orders and their priorities. You will also provide accurate lead times for new customer orders and follow up to ensure deadlines are met. Additionally, you will spend time on the production floor to check progress and solve any delays or material issues. You will work closely with Production, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to coordinate orders, materials, and deliveries. You will attend daily meetings to give updates and help improve production planning processes.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification. A post-Matric qualification in Production Planning, Manufacturing, Operations, or Supply Chain would be helpful. You need at least five years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with hands-on experience in production planning or scheduling. You should be good at using spreadsheets and production tracking systems. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required. You must also have excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities. Experience with 5S activities and continuous improvement practices is a plus.

What you will get

The salary is between R20,000 and R25,000 per month. After passing a 3-month probation period, you will receive benefits like a provident fund and medical aid, with a 50/50 contribution. The job is a permanent position after the probation period.
