What the job is

The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) in Cape Town, Western Cape, is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join their Marketing and Public Relations team. This is a full-time position where you will help bring the WCBS brand to life through digital, print, and campaign materials. You will work with a small, dynamic team of creative professionals who are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.

What you will do

You will design engaging print and digital materials such as advertisements, brochures, marketing content, and internal communications, following WCBS brand guidelines. You will also design and compile newsletters in collaboration with the editorial team. Managing design projects from start to finish, including presenting concepts and meeting deadlines, will be part of your role. Additionally, you will create visual and short-form content for digital and social media platforms, contribute creative ideas to campaigns, and capture and edit photography and video content when needed. Supporting social media engagement in line with organizational guidelines is also required.

What you need

You must have a Matric Certificate and a relevant National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design. At least 2-3 years of experience in a related field is required. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and video/photo editing tools like CapCut. A valid, unendorsed Code 08 driver’s licence is also necessary. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment are essential. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Premier Pro, Meltwater, WordPress, or AI tools like Kling and Adobe Firefly would be an advantage.
