What the job is

This is a Junior Technical Marketer position at Sentraal-Suid Co-operative Ltd, based in Humansdorp, Eastern Cape. The role is part of the company’s Fertiliser Division and is perfect for someone starting their career in agriculture. The job involves marketing and selling fertiliser products, as well as providing technical support and agronomic advice to farmers. It is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the agricultural industry while receiving guidance and support to develop technical and marketing skills.

What you will do

You will visit farms to check plant health, soil conditions, and crop performance. You will build and expand a network of existing and potential clients with the help of the company. You will learn about market trends and competitor activities as part of your development. You will use your interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients positively. Over time, you will be expected to work more independently and take responsibility for your own area and client base.

What you need

You must have a BSc degree in Agriculture, with Soil Science as a relevant field of study. An Honours degree in Soil Science or a related agricultural field will be an advantage. Relevant work experience and a genuine interest in agriculture will support your application. Knowledge of or experience with BASOS and AVCASA courses is a plus but not required. You must be computer literate, able to use MS Office, and prepare basic reports and presentations. A valid Code B (Code 08) driver’s licence is required.
