What the job is

This is a leadership role at SAFAL Group in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Head of Sales for the Mining Sector will lead efforts to make SAFAL Group a trusted technical partner in the East African mining industry. The job involves selling a wide range of steel products and building solutions to mines across Tanzania, DRC, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.

What you will do

You will visit remote mine sites regularly to build strong relationships with engineers and procurement teams. You will manage the registration of SAFAL Group on vendor lists to ensure priority in mining procurement. You will sell standard steel products like sheets, pipes, and structural steel, as well as specialized solutions such as pre-engineered buildings, modular housing, and underground roof support systems. You will also handle tenders, prepare technical quotes, and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery to remote sites. Additionally, you will lead a cross-border sales team, set targets, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering. You need at least 10 years of experience, with 3-5 years in technical sales or site engineering in the mining or heavy industrial sector. Experience in breaking into new markets and managing high-value tenders is required. You should be familiar with structural steel, pre-engineered buildings, and underground support systems. Strong leadership, negotiation, and technical skills are essential, as well as the ability to travel extensively to remote locations.
