What the job is

This is a Senior Import Controller position at Rohlig-Grindrod, a company in the logistics and supply chain industry. The job is based in Sandton, Gauteng, at the company’s Head Office in Linbro Park. It is a permanent role for someone with strong experience in managing imports, coordinating freight, and ensuring compliance in the pharma sector.

What you will do

You will handle the forwarding and clearing of shipments. You will coordinate transport and manage invoicing and administration for shipment files. You will arrange insurance cover and process claims when needed. You will also ensure compliance with the quality management system and perform any additional tasks as required.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a 2-year freight forwarding qualification at NQF level 4 or 5. You need at least 5 to 7 years of experience in import controlling within the Clearing and Forwarding Industry. Knowledge of Incoterms 2020, shipment types, commercial documents, and rate structures is essential. Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Good communication, problem-solving, and time management skills are also important. Experience with CargoWise is beneficial.
