What the job is

Ecowize is hiring a certified and experienced Pest Control and Hygiene Technician to join their team in Cape Town. This role is part of their Pest Control and Hygiene Division, where you will help assess pest problems, choose the best treatment methods, and ensure high-quality service for customers in the Milnerton and Century City areas.

What you will do

You will inspect buildings and surrounding areas to find signs of pests like insects, rodents, or other unwanted animals. You will identify the type and severity of pest infestations and decide on the best treatment methods. Your duties include applying approved chemical treatments, powders, gases, baits, and other pest control products safely and correctly. You will also set and maintain traps, place bait strategically, and safely remove and dispose of pests after treatment. Additionally, you will manage a variety of pests, including rats, termites, snakes, wasps, ants, spiders, mosquitoes, and bed bugs.

What you need

To qualify, you must have a Grade 12 certificate and a valid P-Registration with the Department of Agriculture. You need at least 3 years of experience as a Pest Control Technician and a good understanding of the pest control industry. A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel are required, along with the ability to work flexible hours and overtime. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach are essential.
