What the job is

This is a position for a VM and Spatial Planner Assistant at Weylandts Furniture Cape Town (Pty) Ltd, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves supporting the Spatial Planner in creating and implementing visual merchandising guidelines for homeware products in store settings. It is a permanent, full-time job suited for a junior or graduate-level candidate.

What you will do

You will help prepare and compile homeware visual merchandising lookbooks, including gathering product information, imagery, and styling references. You will document how homeware products should be grouped, styled, and displayed in stores. You will assist with the company’s twice-yearly store revamps by integrating new homeware ranges into furniture settings and layouts. You will use Revit software to help with layouts, product placement, and spatial planning documentation. You will also communicate lookbooks and implementation requirements to store teams and maintain accurate records of all visual merchandising materials.

What you need

You must have a relevant qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Spatial Design, or a related field. Proficiency in Revit is essential, along with strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. You should have a good visual awareness, understanding of color, scale, and styling, as well as strong organizational and communication skills. Experience in retail, visual merchandising, or homeware is beneficial but not required.
