What the job is

Econo Foods is a fast-growing company that sells frozen and everyday food products at great prices. We are looking for a Warehouse Area Supervisor to join our team in Bloemfontein, Free State. This role is important for keeping our warehouse running smoothly and ensuring our customers get the best products every day.

What you will do

You will manage how long stock is kept in the warehouse and make sure older products are sold first. You will check for damaged or broken items in the freezer, chiller, and dry storage areas and find ways to reduce losses. You will supervise warehouse workers who move, store, and organize stock, making sure they follow the right procedures. You will train and support the team to work safely and efficiently. You will also keep track of stock levels, inspect storage areas for cleanliness, and report on warehouse performance to management. Additionally, you will hold team meetings, manage leave and attendance, and ensure everyone follows safety rules.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification. You need at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar warehouse or retail role, preferably in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. You should be good at building relationships, communicating clearly in English, and working well in a team. You must also be detail-oriented, able to use Microsoft Office, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of safety rules and the ability to enforce them is important.
