What the job is

We are hiring a Junior Art Director for ninety9cents, a company based in Cape Town, Western Cape. This role is perfect for someone passionate about advertising and design, especially with experience in retail client projects. You will work on creating exciting promotional designs and campaigns for a well-known national retail client.

What you will do

You will work as part of a creative team under the guidance of a group head and creative director. Your tasks will include coming up with and executing creative campaigns based on client and internal briefs. You will present your work confidently to clients and senior team members. You must design and conceptualize ideas while maintaining high standards for execution and attention to detail. Collaboration with other departments and team members is essential, and you should stay positive and curious, even under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.

What you need

You need at least one year of experience as an art director in a large or integrated advertising agency, along with three years of experience in a high-volume work environment. A relevant tertiary qualification is required. Strong skills in design software like InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator are a must. Experience with social media design and digital or experiential advertising is a plus. You should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently to meet creative and business goals.
