What the job is

What you will do

You will support the production of Small Volume Parenteral medications under the supervision of a qualified Production Pharmacist. Your daily tasks include planning and scheduling pharmaceutical activities, solving production problems, and reporting to the production pharmacist or department manager. You will also help train staff, write and update standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with factory rules and Good Manufacturing Practices. Additionally, you will manage productivity, control losses (such as labor, money, and machinery), handle staff disputes, and complete batch documentation accurately. You may also assist with production compounding and other related tasks as needed.

What you need

You must be registered as a Pharmacist Technician with the South African Pharmacy Council, preferably with a Post-Basic qualification. You need 2-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, specifically with Small Volume Parenteral processes. Knowledge of aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality investigation requirements (such as risk assessments, deviations, and change controls) is essential. Strong human resources and industrial relations skills are also required.
