What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Food and Beverage Floor Manager at Sun International in Cape Town. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of food and beverage services in a hotel or hospitality setting, ensuring high standards, customer satisfaction, and profitability for the outlet.

What you will do

You will manage the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage outlet, including setting objectives, delegating tasks, and ensuring staff follow procedures. You will handle shift scheduling, staff briefings, and shift reports, while being present on the floor to assist customers and resolve complaints. You will monitor product performance, conduct competitor analyses, and recommend improvements to menus and services. You will also ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards, manage stock and equipment, and control costs. Additionally, you will train and motivate staff, handle employee relations, and ensure smooth customer interactions.

What you need

You need a 3-year Hotel School Diploma or equivalent qualification, along with a Grade 12 certificate. You must have 5-6 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in a hotel environment is an advantage. Strong skills in planning, decision-making, problem-solving, and training are required. You should also be able to analyze performance, review compliance, and motivate teams.
