What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Department Head in Insurance Operations Support at AVBOB, a well-known insurance company based in Centurion, Gauteng. The role involves leading a team to ensure smooth operations, compliance with regulations, and effective system management within the insurance environment.

What you will do

You will manage the FSCA Central Register for Representatives and Key Individuals, including registrations, de-registrations, and status updates. You will ensure all regulatory records and compliance documents are accurate and up to date. You will oversee the annual FSCA levy process and ensure payments are made on time. You will monitor compliance with Fit and Proper requirements and FAIS legislation, including coordinating annual assessments. You will also lead system changes, test enhancements, and report on system performance, risks, and improvements. Additionally, you will manage the minimum wage processes for tied agents.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Insurance, Compliance, Finance, or Risk Management. An RE5 qualification is a plus. You need at least 5 years of management experience in the insurance or financial services industry. You should have strong knowledge of FAIS legislation, FSCA regulations, and Fit and Proper requirements. Experience in compliance monitoring, governance, and regulatory reporting is essential. You must also have excellent communication, project management, and people management skills.
