What the job is

This is a festive season contract position for a Sales Assistant at Cape Union Mart, located in Fountains Mall, Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape. The role involves working 120 hours per month during the busy holiday period to support the store’s sales and customer service operations.

What you will do

You will provide excellent customer service by using selling techniques to meet and exceed customer expectations. You will follow stock loss control procedures to protect store inventory. You will consistently meet your individual sales targets and look for opportunities to increase sales. You will maintain store cleanliness and ensure visual merchandising standards are upheld to attract customers. You will help create a positive and fun work environment for both customers and colleagues.

What you need

You should have at least 6 months of retail experience, though this is not mandatory. A Matric certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred but not required. You must have a clear criminal record and be proficient in English. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are essential. You should be friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging. Honesty in handling cash and finances is a must, along with the ability to build relationships and adapt to change.
