What the job is

This is a temporary contract position for a Sales Assistant at Cape Union Mart, located in Fountains Mall, Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape. The role is part of the festive season hiring and requires working 120 hours per month. Cape Union Mart is a well-known retail company specializing in outdoor and adventure gear.

What you will do

You will provide excellent customer service by using selling techniques to meet and exceed customer expectations. You will follow stock loss control procedures to protect store inventory. You will consistently meet your individual sales targets and look for opportunities to increase sales. You will maintain store cleanliness and ensure visual merchandising standards are upheld to attract customers. You will help create a positive and inspiring work environment where teamwork and fun are encouraged.

What you need

You should have at least 6 months of retail experience, though this is not mandatory. A Matric certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred but not required. You must have a clear criminal record and be proficient in English. Strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality are essential. You should also be honest, especially when handling cash and finances, and be able to build and maintain good relationships.
