What the job is

This is a temporary contract position for a Sales Assistant at Old Khaki, a retail store located in Baywest, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape. The job is offered by Cape Union Mart International and is specifically for the festive season. You will work 120 hours per month during this period.

What you will do

You will provide excellent customer service by using selling techniques to meet and exceed customer expectations. You will follow stock loss control procedures in the store to prevent losses. You will consistently meet your individual sales targets and look for opportunities to increase sales. You will maintain store cleanliness and ensure visual merchandising standards are met to attract customers. You will help create a positive and fun work environment.

What you need

You should have at least 6 months of retail experience, though this is not mandatory. A Matric certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred. You must have a clear criminal record and be proficient in English. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude are required. You should be friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging. Honesty, especially when handling cash, is essential.
