What the job is

This is a temporary contract position for the festive season at Old Khaki, a retail store located in Baywest, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape. The job is offered by Cape Union Mart International. You will work 120 hours per month during the busy holiday period, helping customers and supporting store operations.

What you will do

You will provide excellent customer service by using selling techniques to meet and exceed customer expectations. You will follow stock loss control procedures to protect store inventory. You will consistently meet your individual sales targets and look for opportunities to increase sales. You will maintain store cleanliness and ensure visual merchandising standards are met to attract customers. You will help create a positive and fun work environment for both customers and colleagues.

What you need

You must have honesty when handling cash and finances. You should be able to build and maintain good relationships with customers and team members. You need to be adaptable, open to change, and able to think creatively. You must take ownership of your tasks and responsibilities. While not required, having 6 months of retail experience and a Matric or equivalent qualification is a plus. You must have a clear criminal record, be proficient in English, and have strong communication skills. A friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality is essential.
