What the job is
This is a full-time position for a Professional Engineer specializing in Boiler Plant Engineering at Eskom, a major electricity and energy company in South Africa. The job is based at Grootvlei Power Station in Mpumalanga. The role focuses on improving and maintaining the performance of the boiler plant equipment and systems.
What you will do
You will optimize the performance of the boiler plant to ensure it runs efficiently. You will identify and solve any technical issues that arise with the plant equipment. You will manage modifications and upgrades to the plant as needed. You will also oversee engineering projects related to the boiler plant and provide technical advice and support to the team.
What you need
You must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Engineering with 480 credits at NQF level 8. You need at least two years of engineering experience or have completed a graduate training program. You must be registered as a candidate engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Strong knowledge of engineering codes, plant policies, and root cause analysis is required, along with skills in communication, leadership, and financial management.
