What the job is

This is a Diesel Mechanic position at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd., a company in the mining industry. The job is based in Mpumalanga. The main purpose of this role is to provide efficient maintenance services for plant and equipment while following all safety rules.

What you will do

You will follow all company policies, safety rules, and employment laws. You will attend safety meetings, training sessions, and pre-shift meetings as scheduled. Your duties include performing inspections, completing reports, and assisting with writing repair specifications. You must ensure all maintenance tasks follow standard procedures and that energy sources are safely neutralized before starting work. You will perform both planned and unplanned maintenance on plant and equipment to keep them in good working condition. You will also report any faults, accidents, or safety issues to your supervisor.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 certificate, an N3 qualification or equivalent, and a Diesel Mechanic Trade Test (Red Seal). You need at least three years of experience working with TMMs (Trackless Mobile Machinery) in a mining environment. Strong skills in problem-solving, planning, organizing, decision-making, and communication are required. You must also pass an annual medical examination and follow good housekeeping practices.
