What the job is

This is a Kitchen Supervisor position at Empact Group, based in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role involves managing the kitchen operations for Empact Group Food Solutions, ensuring that food production runs smoothly and meets quality standards.

What you will do

You will oversee the daily kitchen production to ensure everything runs efficiently. You will maintain consistency in all menu items and help monitor inventory, reporting needs to the catering manager. You will ensure proper portion control, preparation, and storage methods to avoid waste and keep costs low. You will also assist with food preparation according to the menu cycle, complete paperwork like wastage sheets and cleaning records, and help with stock takes and temperature records. Additionally, you will support, train, and develop the kitchen team.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts. You need at least 2 years of experience in kitchen management, including stock control, ordering, and receiving. Knowledge of catering environments, South African industry laws, management skills, communication skills, and computer literacy are required. Experience in healthcare catering is a plus.
