What the job is

This is a Kitchen Supervisor position at Empact Group, based in Pretoria, Gauteng. The company operates in the food and beverage industry. You will work under a fixed-term contract to manage kitchen operations and ensure high-quality food production.

What you will do

You will oversee the daily running of the kitchen to make sure food preparation and cooking go smoothly. You will maintain the same quality and taste for all menu items every time they are made. You will help track food supplies, order what is needed, and report to the catering manager. You will control portion sizes, follow proper food storage methods, and reduce waste to keep costs low. You will also complete paperwork like wastage reports, cleaning records, and temperature logs. Additionally, you will assist in training and developing the kitchen team and support colleagues with other tasks when required.

What you need

You must have completed Matric and hold a qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts. You need at least two years of experience in kitchen or food production management. Experience with stock control, ordering, and receiving supplies is required. Knowledge of catering environments, from fine dining to restaurant service, is important. You should also understand South African food industry laws, have good management and communication skills, and be comfortable using computers.
