What the job is

This is a Kitchen Supervisor position at Empact Group in Pretoria, Gauteng. The job is a contract role within the food and beverage industry. You will work for Empact Group Food Solutions, a company that provides catering services.

What you will do

You will oversee the smooth operation of kitchen production and ensure all menu items are consistent. You will help monitor inventory and communicate needs to the catering manager. You will ensure portion control, proper food preparation, and storage to avoid waste and reduce costs. You will deliver excellent service and assist in food production areas as needed. You will complete paperwork such as wastage sheets and cleaning records. You will help with stock takes and maintain temperature records. You will analyze and manage costs, record food wastage, and support, train, and develop the team.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate and a relevant tertiary qualification in food and beverage services or culinary arts. You need at least 2 years of experience in kitchen management. Experience with stock control, ordering, and receiving is required. Knowledge of the catering environment, South African laws, and industry-specific regulations is important. You should have management and communication skills and be computer literate. Healthcare catering experience is a plus.
