What the job is

This is a job for an Operations Supervisor at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd., a company in the mining industry. The role is based in Limpopo and involves making sure that all operational activities follow safety, environmental, and productivity rules. You will also help management run operations smoothly and efficiently.

What you will do

You will carry out operational and technical tasks as directed by the company. You will help implement business initiatives and ensure materials and equipment are used cost-effectively according to company procedures. You will follow all safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) rules and laws to meet company responsibilities. You will interact professionally with stakeholders, including operators and junior management, and maintain good working relationships with support teams. You will assist in planning and scheduling daily shift work to meet project goals and supervise the team on duty. You will also ensure all paperwork and posters are up to date at the site office and record near misses weekly. Additionally, you will check that technical standards and work methods are followed and verify calculations on plans and drawings.

What you need

You need a National Diploma or B Tech in Civil, Mining, or Metallurgical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. You must have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within mining, tailings, or construction. You should have general computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal. People management, teamwork, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are also required.
