What the job is

This is a position for an Engineering Field Service Assistant at Pump and Abrasion Technologies, a company in the mining and metals industry. The job is based in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, and is a permanent role. You will work as part of a team that provides on-site support to clients.

What you will do

You will assist engineers with repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks at client sites. You will troubleshoot technical problems and find solutions to keep equipment running smoothly. You will also coordinate service visits by scheduling appointments and arranging travel and accommodations. Additionally, you will document all work completed and provide detailed reports to the engineering team. You must communicate clearly with clients to ensure they are satisfied and their issues are resolved. Keeping tools and equipment clean and organized is part of the job, and you must always follow safety rules while working on-site.

What you need

You need at least a high school diploma or equivalent qualification. A diploma or degree in engineering or a related field is preferred but not required. Previous experience in a technical support or field service role is an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are important. You should have excellent communication and teamwork abilities. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required, and you must be willing to travel and work flexible hours when needed.
