What the job is

This is a position for an Engineering Field Service Manager at Pump and Abrasion Technologies, based in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga. The role involves leading a team of field service engineers and technicians to ensure high-quality service delivery to clients in the mining and metals industry.

What you will do

You will lead, mentor, and supervise a team of field service engineers and technicians. You will ensure that technical issues and service requests are resolved quickly and efficiently. You will develop and implement training programs to improve the skills of your team. You will monitor performance metrics and create strategies to improve field service operations. You will also manage inventory, equipment, and resources while maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure their satisfaction. Additionally, you will provide technical support to your team when needed and collaborate with other departments to coordinate field service activities.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. You need at least 5 years of experience in a technical field service role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position. Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering is required. You should have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to manage a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Experience with field service management software and tools is beneficial, and you must be willing to travel to client sites as needed. A relevant engineering certification or license is a plus.
