What the job is
This is a job for a Nuclear Medicine Radiographer at the Department of Health, based at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria, Gauteng. The hospital is looking to fill 3 positions for this role. The job involves working in the Nuclear Medicine department, which specializes in using radioactive materials for medical imaging and treatment.
What you will do
You will provide clinical services and patient care in the Nuclear Medicine department. Your tasks will include organizing, planning, and implementing departmental policies and procedures. You will also take part in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs. Additionally, you will handle administrative duties, supervise students in clinical training, and work independently. Experience in Nuclear Medicine, including work in a "hot laboratory" and PET/CT, will be beneficial.
What you need
You must have a Grade 12 certificate plus a National Diploma or Honors Degree in Diagnostic Radiography and a Nuclear Medicine qualification (B-Tech/B.Rad or equivalent). Alternatively, a National Diploma or Degree in Nuclear Medicine Radiography is acceptable. You must be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and provide recent proof of payment. Candidates with only a single qualification in Nuclear Medicine will not receive specialty salary levels.

The salary depends on your qualifications and grade level. For dual qualifications, the annual salary ranges from R510,906 to R703,785, plus benefits. For single qualifications, the salary ranges from R413,121 to R564,822 per year, plus benefits.
