What the job is

This is a permanent position for a Refueller at Bidvest Facilities Management, based in Vanrhynsdorp, Western Cape. The company is part of the facilities services industry and operates in the operations sector. The role involves working with mobile and static generators to ensure they are properly maintained and functional.

What you will do

You will be responsible for towing, deploying, refueling, and recovering mobile generator units. You will also refuel static generators and perform basic power checks, including manual changeovers between Eskom and generator supply. Maintaining the cleanliness and general condition of generators, bowsers, and company assets is part of the job. Additionally, you will conduct quality checks, audits, and weekly generator inspections on site. Identifying and reporting risks related to health, safety, workflow, and performance is required. Planning generator repairs and traveling to different regions to perform tasks as needed is also expected.

What you need

You must have a Matric or Grade 12 qualification. A valid Code 08 EB/EC or EC1 driver’s license, a Dangerous Goods Driving Permit, a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP), and an ECB1 Trailer Towing License or Certification are required. At least one year of experience working on telecommunications sites and knowledge of generator maintenance and operation are necessary. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel are also needed. You must be medically fit and willing to travel and work in different regions as required.
