Job Description
What the job is
This is a job for the Head of Campus at Make it Good, an education company opening a new campus in Cape Town. The company focuses on training artisans across Africa and is looking for someone to lead their new campus from the start. The role is based on-site in Cape Town, and you must be legally allowed to work in South Africa to apply.
What you will do
You will lead all campus operations, including managing facilities, scheduling, systems, and compliance. You will shape and carry out the campus strategy to match the company’s growth goals. You will build relationships with employers, partners, and stakeholders in the Western Cape. You will lead, develop, and support every team member on campus. You will monitor programme delivery, troubleshoot issues, and manage the campus budget while tracking performance and risks. You will also identify growth opportunities, such as new programmes and partnerships, and represent the business in Cape Town while sharing insights with the head office.
What you need
You need 3 to 5 years of experience in operational leadership or campus management. You must have a proven record of managing diverse, multi-functional teams. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean environment where structures are still developing. You must be a strong people manager who holds others accountable without micromanaging. You should be financially literate and confident discussing budgets. You must also be a clear communicator who can turn strategy into action and be a curious generalist willing to dive into the details of every function. Experience in education, training, or workforce development, as well as connections in Cape Town’s communities, are a bonus.
What you will get
You will earn between R50,000 and R70,000 per month, cost-to-company. Benefits include group life cover, medical aid contributions, stock options, and a flexible leave policy with time off during the annual shutdown. This is a permanent, full-time role with the chance to make a real impact by building a new campus from scratch.
