What the job is

This is a Facilities Manager position at Virgin Active South Africa in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will work for the Clubs Coastal division, specifically at the Table View location. The role is permanent and focuses on maintaining the club’s facilities to ensure a great experience for members.

What you will do

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment like fitness machines, swimming pools, HVAC systems, water systems, saunas, and steam rooms. You will handle emergency repairs and ensure all maintenance tasks follow company policies. You will also manage health and safety checks, conduct audits, and oversee utility consumption to reduce costs. Additionally, you will assist in managing maintenance budgets and train onsite staff. You will collaborate with other technical teams and ensure the club meets brand standards.

What you need

You must have a Matric qualification and an advanced technical qualification. You need at least 2-3 years of experience in maintenance, including hands-on work with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and plant equipment. You should understand health and safety regulations and have experience managing maintenance costs and teams. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is also necessary.
