What the job is

This is a Facilities Manager position at Virgin Active South Africa, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves maintaining and improving the club’s facilities to ensure a great experience for members. You will work as part of the maintenance team to keep the club running smoothly.

What you will do

You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment like fitness machines, swimming pools, HVAC systems, water systems, saunas, and steam rooms. You will handle emergency repairs and ensure all maintenance tasks follow company policies. You will also manage health and safety checks, train staff, control utility usage, and assist with budget management for maintenance costs. Additionally, you will conduct audits, address repair concerns, and collaborate with other technical teams.

What you need

You must have a Matric qualification and an advanced technical qualification. You need at least 2-3 years of maintenance experience, including hands-on work with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and plant equipment. Strong knowledge of health and safety, Microsoft Office, and utility management is required. Good people management skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
