What the job is

This is a Buyer position at Stefanutti Stocks, a construction company based in New Germany, KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves managing procurement for construction projects, ensuring materials and services are bought at the best prices while meeting project deadlines and quality standards.

What you will do

You will work closely with project teams, estimating departments, and suppliers to understand what materials and services are needed, their costs, and delivery timelines. You will create and follow procurement plans that fit project budgets, deadlines, and quality requirements. Your tasks will include finding suppliers, getting quotes, comparing prices, and negotiating the best deals for price, quality, and delivery. You will also track supplier performance, resolve delivery issues, and keep records of all purchases. Additionally, you will stay updated on market trends, material costs, and supplier capabilities to make smart buying decisions. You will ensure all purchases follow company policies, project specifications, and legal requirements. You will also prepare reports on savings, spending, and supplier performance.

What you need

You must have a CIPS qualification or an equivalent procurement qualification. You need at least 8 to 10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the construction industry. Experience with BuildSmart software is a plus. Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. You should also be good with Microsoft Office and have a solid understanding of financial and risk management. Attention to detail and a high level of integrity are important.
