What the job is
This is a job for a Graphic Designer at a well-known South African coffee roastery based in Pretoria, Gauteng. The company has recently gone through a full rebrand and is now growing quickly, aiming to become a beloved coffee brand across the country. You will work for a family-run business that values creativity and teamwork.
What you will do
You will be responsible for rolling out and maintaining brand assets consistently across the business. This includes designing internal and external communications, presentations, and documents. You will also create brand materials such as print, packaging, point-of-sale displays, brochures, and zines. Additionally, you will produce sales tools, trade assets, and support e-commerce, digital merchandising, and online campaigns. Another key part of the role is creating social media content and campaigns, as well as preparing artwork for print and digital use, including checking and approving color and print proofs.
What you need
You must be fluent in Afrikaans and have a strong conceptual and visual thinking ability with great attention to detail. You should be comfortable working within an established and complex brand system while also creating new work that fits within it. The ability to manage a high volume of varied work across different departments and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines is essential. Experience in preparing artwork for both print and digital, including signing off on color and print proofs, is required. You must also have a collaborative, proactive, and accountable working style. A portfolio link in your CV showing examples of brand system execution, print, packaging, digital, and social work is mandatory—applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
What you will get
The salary for this permanent, full-time position is between R30,000 and R35,000 per month, cost-to-company. Benefits include a performance-based annual bonus, a travel allowance, a provident fund contribution, and a laptop with a data or Wi-Fi stipend. The work model is hybrid, allowing for 1 to 2 days of remote work per week. Standard working hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM, with an early finish on Fridays.
