What the job is

This is a Collections Agent position at Virgin Active South Africa in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves recovering unpaid membership fees while maintaining good relationships with members. It is a permanent job based in the Contact Centre’s Collections department.

What you will do

You will handle overdue membership payments by contacting members over the phone or through written messages. You will use the company’s collections methods to recover debts and ensure members stay with Virgin Active. You will also respond to member questions and complaints in a professional and friendly way, following the company’s values. Additionally, you will work with other departments to meet business goals and deliver results.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification. Previous experience of up to 3 years as a collections agent, sales representative, or similar role is required. You should have a proven record of meeting collections targets, especially over the phone. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to handle rejection and multitask across different systems. You must be fluent in English and able to work independently while being a team player.
