What the job is

This is a Field Manager position at Smollan, a company in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry. The job is based in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, and is a permanent role. You will be responsible for leading and managing field operations to ensure smooth business execution.

What you will do

You will focus on achieving operational excellence by actively managing daily activities. You will gather business insights and ensure they are executed effectively. You will work closely with a team, managing and motivating them while also handling your own tasks independently. You will engage with stakeholders to build strong relationships and ensure smooth collaboration. You will manage promotional activities, achieve point-of-purchase objectives, and monitor new product innovations. You will also be responsible for meeting targets efficiently, controlling expenses, and making sure all operations run smoothly.

What you need

You need 2 to 3 years of sales experience in the FMCG industry at a managerial or supervisory level. A relevant Diploma at NQF level 5 is required. You must have a valid Code 8 driver’s license. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. You should be good at analyzing problems and solving them, as well as being computer literate. Business acumen, commercial awareness, and attention to detail are important. You must be a proactive thinker with leadership, planning, organizing, negotiation, sales management, and decision-making skills.
