What the job is

This is a Facilities Manager position at CBRE Excellerate, a leading company in commercial real estate services and investments. The job is based in Accra, Ghana, and involves managing building operations and maintenance for medium to large facilities. CBRE Excellerate helps clients across Africa and the Middle East with services like facilities management, project management, and advisory services.

What you will do

You will manage a team responsible for overseeing building operations and maintenance for one or more facilities. You will support Client Managers with repairs and investment plans. Your duties include supervising, training, and developing employees, conducting performance evaluations, and overseeing the hiring of new team members. You will also schedule and manage daily activities, coordinate facility repairs and maintenance, prepare and manage budgets, and approve vendor relationships and invoicing. Additionally, you will review price quotes for parts, services, and labor.

What you need

You should have an engineering qualification, which is advantageous but not required. You need 6 to 10 years of experience in Facility Management. Preferred requirements include a Facility Management certification and experience in staffing, training, coaching, and performance management. Strong leadership skills are essential to motivate your team. You must also have skills in organizational and problem-solving, advanced math, negotiation, quality assurance, safety compliance, and vendor management. Knowledge of building operations, capital project management, budgets, safety procedures, and regulations is required.
