What the job is
The University of the Free State is looking for a Senior Lecturer to join the Department of Zoology and Entomology at the Qwaqwa Campus. This is a part-time contract position, working 25 hours per week for one year. The role involves teaching and research in the field of ecology and zoology.
What you will do
You will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subjects like Behavioural Ecology and Human Ecological Footprint. You will supervise postgraduate students at Honours, Masters, and Doctoral levels. You will publish research in national and international peer-reviewed journals. You will also help develop the department’s curriculum and perform general administrative tasks.
What you need
You must have a PhD in Zoology, Ecology, or a related field. You need proven teaching experience in higher education and a strong research record with publications in accredited journals. Experience presenting research at national conferences and recognition in zoological or ecological fields is required. Supervision of postgraduate students and involvement in scholarly societies are recommended.
