What the job is
Frogfoot Networks is hiring a Fibre Maintenance Technician to work in the Western Cape. This is a permanent, remote position where you will be part of the Maintenance team. The company specializes in telecommunications, and you will help keep their fibre optic network running smoothly for both home and business customers.
What you will do
You will install, maintain, and fix fibre optic systems and network equipment. Your tasks include testing optical components, measuring signal strength, and ensuring the network performs well from the Node to Access Points. You will also plan work based on priorities, cooperate with other teams, and solve problems by analyzing information and checking work quality. Additionally, you will communicate with customers, handle complaints, and ensure all work meets company standards and deadlines.
What you need
You must have a Matric certificate or equivalent work experience. Essential skills include fibre network installations, testing, troubleshooting, splicing, and working with ONTs and routers. You should also have experience with FTTH and FTTB builds, fault-finding, and using platforms like RT or Solid. A CFOT certification and 12-24 months of industry experience are required. Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer skills are also necessary.

This is a full-time permanent role with standard working hours from 8:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. Overtime and standby duties may be required, including 24/7 availability during standby periods.
