What the job is

This is a Junior Art Director position at 99 Cents, a company based in Cape Town. The role is for someone passionate about creating exciting promotional designs and breakthrough concepts for a national retail client. You will work in the advertising industry, helping to develop visual and conceptual ideas from the initial brief to the final artwork.

What you will do

You will work as part of a team under the guidance of a Group Head and Creative Director to come up with and execute campaigns based on client and internal briefs. You will present your work confidently to clients and senior creatives. You will design and conceptualize ideas, ensuring high standards of execution and attention to detail. You will collaborate and communicate effectively with the team and other departments. You will stay positive, even under pressure, and always look for new and interesting ideas.

What you need

You need a relevant tertiary qualification and at least 1 year of experience as an Art Director in a large or integrated advertising agency. You also need at least 3 years of experience in a high-volume work environment. You must have strong skills in design software like InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, as well as experience with social media design across various platforms. Experience in digital and experiential advertising is a plus. You should be highly motivated, able to work independently, and have a strong work ethic.
