What the job is

This is a Graduate Data Analyst position at Smollan, a company based in the Western Cape. The role is part of the Data and Technology team, which focuses on managing data, creating reports, automating systems, and using image recognition. What you will do

You will work with data from different sources to find trends, inconsistencies, and patterns in retail field execution data. You will clean and organize raw data from store visits and image recognition systems so it can be used in business intelligence tools. You will create clear, interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Pyramid Analytics or Looker Studio to track important business metrics. You will analyze data pipelines to find and fix slow processes or redundancies, and suggest improvements. You will also help document data structures, system designs, and dashboard details to keep the team’s knowledge base up to date. Additionally, you will support the implementation of Salesforce automations and measure the impact of system upgrades.

What you need

You must have completed a qualification at NQF Level 5 or 6 in Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. You should be a recent graduate or have 1 to 2 years of experience since finishing your studies. You need a good understanding of data structures, systems analysis, and querying languages, along with an analytical mindset. Retail experience is not required, as training will be provided on the job.
