What the job is

This is a Junior Retail Analyst position at Smollan, a company based in Gauteng. The role is part of the Research team and focuses on creating reports and presentations to support business decisions in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.

What you will do

You will help create and update reports and presentation slides, ensuring they are accurate and delivered on time. You will gather relevant information for the Trade Tatler publication and assist in writing thought-leadership articles. You will also work with team members to share industry updates during weekly meetings. Additionally, you will follow team procedures, suggest improvements, and stay updated on local and global FMCG trends to improve reports.

What you need

You need a qualification in Marketing, Business Science, Statistics, or a related field. Experience of at least one year in the South African food and grocery industry is a plus. You should be comfortable using Google tools and applications. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are also required.
