What the job is

This is a Maintenance Technician - Cleaning position at Ecowize, a company specializing in hygiene and sanitation. The job is based in JHB East Rand, Gauteng. The role is important for keeping equipment, facilities, and systems running safely and efficiently. You will work on maintenance, repairs, and ensuring cleanliness and compliance with standards.

What you will do

You will perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and dosing equipment. You will clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and vehicles, and operate pressure washers and disinfectant sprayers. You will diagnose and repair equipment to minimize downtime and keep accurate maintenance records. You will also provide technical support, assist with training, and ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations. Additionally, you will help maintain facilities, ventilation systems, and water lines, and conduct inspections and audits.

What you need

You must have a Matric (Grade 12) certificate and at least 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, technical services, or industrial operations. Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills are required, along with knowledge of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, dosing pumps, and chemical handling. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical reporting is also needed. A valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence, technical qualification, or experience in poultry, livestock, FMCG, industrial, or agricultural environments is advantageous. You must be comfortable working shifts, including weekends, and be energetic, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
