What the job is
This is a contract position for a Professional Nurse at Right To Care, based in Hawston, Western Cape. The role involves providing community-based healthcare services, including clinical care, health promotion, and wellness support. The nurse will work closely with community health workers and other stakeholders to deliver quality healthcare in the community.
What you will do
You will plan and coordinate healthcare services based on community needs, such as chronic disease areas and TB hotspots. You will supervise community health workers, ensuring they provide basic care, conduct household assessments, and visit creches. You will administer immunizations, perform health screenings, and provide reproductive health services. You will also support health campaigns, manage patient records, and ensure adherence to treatment plans. Additionally, you will conduct quality assurance visits, monitor data collection, and maintain a safe working environment.
What you need
You must have a Grade 12 certificate, a Diploma in General Nursing, and certifications in Reproductive Health and Dispensing Licence. You need at least 1 year of relevant experience. Strong planning, supervision, and clinical skills are essential. You should also have experience in community-based healthcare and adherence support.
