What the job is

Afgri Animal Feeds is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Technical Advisor for Ruminants to join their team in Paterson. This is a full-time position where you will use your expertise in animal science to sell and promote ruminant feed products to farmers. You will provide technical advice and support to help customers improve their farming operations.

What you will do

You will regularly visit existing and potential clients to build relationships and understand their needs. You will maintain an updated database of clients and prospects. Your role includes providing technical advice on the company’s ruminant feed products and helping customers use them effectively. You will track sales progress, monitor expenses, and submit weekly or monthly reports. Additionally, you will manage customer accounts, place orders with factories, and address any issues related to product quality or delivery. You will also evaluate competitors’ products and market trends to stay ahead.

What you need

You must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, and a Master’s degree in the same field will be an advantage. You need at least 5 years of experience in sales and marketing within the animal feed industry. Strong knowledge of ruminant nutrition is essential. You should be an extrovert with good planning and administrative skills, able to work independently and build strong relationships with clients. Being proactive, hardworking, and reliable is important for this role.
