What the job is

This is a Senior C# Developer role with e-Merge IT Recruitment, based in Cape Town. The company builds technology that connects the physical and digital worlds and is looking for a skilled developer to join their team. You will work on interesting projects that involve creating and improving software solutions.

What you will do

You will write clean and scalable C# code to develop high-quality software. You will work on improving CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes to make software delivery smoother and more efficient. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to design and operate cloud-native architectures. You will also work on backend and some frontend development using technologies like C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, and TypeScript. Additionally, you will handle database tasks, including SQL queries, indexing, and using Entity Framework Core.

What you need

You need at least 7 years of full-time software development experience, preferably in a team environment, including experience with cloud environments in production. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent professional experience is acceptable. You should have strong knowledge of software engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, and version control. Experience with SaaS products, startups, or scaleups is a big plus. You must also be proficient in SQL or NoSQL databases and familiar with concepts like CQRS, Dependency Injection, and the Task Parallel Library.
