What the job is

This is a Senior Technologist Engineer position in Control and Instrumentation (C&I) at Eskom, based at Ankerlig Power Station in Atlantis, Western Cape. The role focuses on developing and supporting technology strategies, standards, and designs for power station operations. It is a permanent position within Eskom’s Peaking Operating Unit.

What you will do

You will provide technical consulting and investigative services for engineering challenges. You will develop and integrate engineering solutions for asset creation and approve technical standards, procedures, and specifications. You will manage evaluations of products, equipment, and materials, and contribute to technology research and strategy. Additionally, you will participate in national and international technical forums and provide professional technical leadership.

What you need

You must have a B Tech, National Higher Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Electronic Engineering with 360 credits at NQF7. You need at least 4 years of experience in engineering planning, design, and management for power stations or electrical networks. Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Technologist is required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
