What the job is

This is a Group Head position at ninety9cents, a company based in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role involves leading a team in creating and managing advertising layouts for clients, ensuring high-quality and accurate work in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do

You will create advertising layouts using approved templates, product data, and imagery from the company’s workflow database. You will ensure all layouts follow strict formatting rules, including sizes, fonts, colors, and brand guidelines. You will review your team’s work, provide feedback, and manage training and upskilling for new staff. You will also handle email reviews, conduct interviews for new candidates, and ensure all pricing and product details are accurate and up to date. Additionally, you will use software like Adobe Creative Suite and the company’s workflow management system to complete tasks efficiently.

What you need

You need a Diploma in Desktop Publishing or Art Direction, or equivalent experience. At least 2 years of experience as a DTP artist, group head, or team lead in an advertising agency or similar environment is required. You must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and MacOS, with knowledge of Figma being an advantage. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. You should also be a team player, proactive, and willing to work flexible hours when needed.
